Slide Chair - Children’s Chair

The unresting and curious nature of children. First foray into steam bending wood in our small studio space. Being able to maintain gives it a slight flexibility yet.

I was inspired by the abundance of playgrounds in Hong Kong housing communities, and how they create core childhood memories for both guardian and children. I wanted to bring an element of that into the client’s home, replacing the hard painted steel with softer and warmer wood.

The mid-section references the slide with a continuous yet flexible and comfortable structure, with the more supportive cylindrical bent wood legs.
